It’s been quite a few weeks since the AMD RX 5600 XT launched and we expected to see more partner card variants hitting the shelves. Across the globe there are still online stores with various models listed under their pre-order status or not listed altogether. The interruption could be due to the last minute update we reported on, which saw AMD release a new vBIOS to shift GPU boost and memory clocks for specific models. The potential problem with this is that stock sitting in retailers warehouses could feature the outdated vBIOS. At least with this delay, end users are unlikely required to manually update this themselves.

Today we are casting a critical eye over the new XFX RX 5600 XT THICC III Ultra. Compared to the 5700, XFX has made a variety of modifications to their cooling solution with a matching, refined aesthetic. Under this ‘Ultra’ the company has decided to apply a factory overclock to just the GPU clock boost and have therefore left the memory frequencies at their reference settings.
