Conclusion

Over the coming weeks we’ll see more and more models under the RX 5600 XT banner hit the shelves and we can verify that what XFX has to offer is a definitely worth considering.

It’s now common knowledge that the 5600 XT can easily take on the GTX 1660 Ti and is more of a rival to the RTX 2060. XFX’s variant continues with this narrative delivering up some solid performance when 1080p gaming is under analysis.

We really like the revamped design of the THICC III cooler which not only alters the dimensions but also the aesthetics – adding further refinement by keeping things simple and stripping out chrome detailing. The thermal performance from XFX’s solution provides decent results in terms of low-temperatures and low-noise. This particular attribute is often what separates each of the partner cards.

Our only complaint is that it would have been nice to see this ‘Ultra’ variant bear a memory modification out of the box as well, rather than just the GPU clock boost. But, then this graphics card does sit near to the base MSRP for the 5600 XT – coming in at a £285 GBP - $280 USD - $500 AUD.

The RX 5600 XT THICC III Ultra is an excellent choice for 1080p gamers and should definitely be on the shortlist.

Pros
+ Refined, sleek aesthetic
+ Low-noise cooling solution
+ Decent thermal performance
+ Dual-Bios switch for lower noise
+ Excellent 1080p performance
+ Matches the RTX 2060 in performance

Cons
- Power efficiency could be better
- No memory overclock
