Synology introduces the new FlashStation FS1018 and DiskStation DS218, two feature-packed NAS products that offer file sharing, media streaming and data backup functions in a desktop form factor. Both the FS1080 and DS218 uses the award-winning DiskStation Manager, the advanced and intuitive operating system for Synology NAS devices, with various applications offered to enhance work productivity.

Synology FlashStation FS1018

The FlashStation FS1018 is a compact yet powerful 12-bay NAS that features high-speed transfer with its all-SSD configuration. In the heart of the FS1018 is the Intel Pentium D1508 dual-core processor and 8GB DDR4 EEC RAM, expandable up to 32GB. For connectivity, the FS1018 sports four plug-and-play Gigabit Ethernet LAN ports and it also supports higher performance options to further improve the NAS device. The selected network add-on cards can be installed on FS1018 with a PCIe 3.0 x8 slot, providing over 40K 4K Random Write IOPS.

Synology DiskStation DS218

The DS218 is a 2-bay NAS equipped with a 64-bit quad-core processor delivering sequential throughput at over 112 MB/s reading and 112 MB/s writing. It comes with 2 GB DDR4 memory, four times the capacity of its predecessor. The DS218 is a versatile NAS server for centralized file storage and real-time 4K H.265 video transcoding.
