The Synology DiskStation DS418play packs a dual-core 2GHz processor with boost speeds of 2.5GHz with a 2GB DDR3L memory, expandable to 6GB. It offers a good balance between performance and value making it ideal for home multimedia storage. Upgrade memory to 6GB to improve multitasking performance. Powered by a new hardware transcoding engine, DS418play supports up to two channels of H.265/H.264 4K video transcoding. With Link Aggregation enabled, the DS418play delivers excellent encrypted data throughput at over 226 MB/s reading and 185 MB/s writing.
