AMD partners with Zhongshan Subor, a consumer electronics manufacturer based in China, teases a new gaming PC and console machine in the China market powered by a semi-custom SoC (system on chip) that combines the Ryzen’s Zen architecture and the Vega graphics architecture – the SUBOR Gaming Console. The custom-made AMD SoC comes with an AMD Ryzen processor with 4 cores and 8 threads running at 3.0Ghz paired with an AMD Radeon Vega graphics with 24 Computing Units running at 1.3GHz and 256-bit GDDR5 interface onto a single SoC. The AMD SoC is then paired with an 8GB of GDDR5 memory on the motherboard.

This semi-custom AMD SoC is an example of AMD’s capabilities to combine its high-performance Ryzen processor and Vega graphics technologies to create a powerful gaming machine that offers the most immersive gaming experiences possible. The semi-custom AMD SoC feature support to AMD’s leading-edge technologies including Radeon FreeSync and Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition software. The new AMD SoC aims to bring AMD’s next-generation technologies such as Rapid Packed Math that’s being adopted by popular game publishers like Ubisoft. AMD has also been a partner of world-class professional eSports teams such as Fnatic, using AMD Ryzen and AMD Vega powered machines for training.

SUBOR Gaming Console Launch

The SUBOR Gaming Console was demonstrated at ChinaJoy, China’s digital entertainment expo. Subor plans to launch the gaming console in late-August 2018. The SUBOR gaming console featuring the AMD SoC and a custom-made OS is also expected to launch by the end of 2018.
