With the rumours of the next NVIDIA RTX SUPER Series graphics cards looming, a revision of the 12VHPWR connector has been revealed by Seasonic, a leading power supply unit manufacturer. Seasonic posted on its Weibo account details of the new 12V-2x6 connector which will come with an angled 90° L-shaped module line designed for cable management and no bending required.
The new Seasonic 12V-2x6 cable appears to be compatible with the current ATX 3.0 PSU line-up. Seasonic’s redesigned 12V-2x6 connector sports a reinforced terminal structure equipped with high-current resistant steel alloy right-angle terminals along with 16AWG high-specification cables for stable and reliable power delivery. The new 12V-2x6 cable supports 600W power output and complies with the updated ATX v3.1 and revised PCIe Card Electromechanical (CEM) 5.1 specification.
Seasonic has posted a crowd-testing invitation in China via Weibo, inviting users to test the new 12V-2x6 90-degree L-shaped cable along with a FOCUS GX750 ATX3.0 power supply. Seasonic and other PSU manufacturers are yet to officially globally announce the existence of the new 12V-2x6 connector standard.
