It's fair to say that For Honor's initial release on PC and console was exceptionally strong, but the popularity of Ubisoft's 3rd person historic brawler swiftly waned soon after under the weight of competition. Nonetheless the game continues to have a core (and apparently once again growing) player base, active reddit community and substantial on-going support from developers Ubisoft Montreal. As For Honour reaches its 6th season of play Ubisoft are giving everyone a free taste of the game across all released platforms.
Starting at 6pm GMT today (Thurs. 3rd May), and running until Sunday evening, For Honor will be free to play on PC alongside PS4 and XBOX One. Free Weekend players will be able to experience all the game has to offer, including Story Mode, PvP/PvAI Game Modes (1v1 Duel, 2v2 Brawl, 4v4 Dominion/Elimination/Skirmish), eighteen Heroes and eighteen Maps. Furthermore, For Honor will also be available for as much as 75% off its MSRP, which on PC in the UK means that you'll be able to buy it for the low-low price of £12.50.
For Honour Free Weekend Rollout
Coinciding with the Free Weekend is the title's new Warrior Training program, which encourages veterans to team up with new players to be eligible for Champion status. Being a Champion - which normally costs in-game currency - grants higher rewards for a short time that you can then put towards character upgrades.
The “Warrior Training Program” is an updated system we are pleased to introduce exclusively during the Free Weekend period on all platforms, from May 3rd @ 5PM (UTC) to May 6th @ 8PM (UTC).
Grouping up is a unique way to experience the world of For Honor and a great opportunity to share techniques. As a seasoned warrior, complete 5 matches while grouped with Free Weekend players (who does not own the game) within the aforementioned event timeframe to win a 2-week Champion Status!
- Free weekend players who do not own the game can also group up to be eligible for the reward. You are eligible if you already own the game or not!
- As grouping is the key of this program, only 2v2 and 4v4 game modes are applicable in PvP PvAI.
- Reward is eligible in all the game regions where the game is available.
