The Core i7 brings a new memory controller that demands DDR3 but not only this, it also allows for triple channel.
This you may think could cost you a small fortune, but DDR3 prices have been dropping as the months have passed and you can now pick up a kit for not too dissimilar price to how much a DDR2 kit would cost you.
We've also seen Microsoft's new operating system Windows 7 replace the notorious Vista, and again if you move forward to this new suite its going to demand greater of your system, but the benefits from upgrading to Core i7 along with triple channel DDR3 are unparalleled.
