Noctua prepares for the upcoming Intel LGA2066 socket platform with codename Basin Falls using X299 chipset for the Kaby Lake-X and Skylake-X High-End Desktop (HED) processors. Noctua has prepared free NM-I20xx mounting kit upgrades ahead of time to current Noctua cooler users for them to be able to use with the new LGA2066 platform. Older Noctua cooler models can get the upgrade free of charge with the new NM-I2011 or NM-i20XX mounting kits.

Upon evaluation, Noctua found out that the upcoming LGA2066 has an identical heat sink mounting mechanism with the LGA2011 socket. Hence, Noctua’s SecuFirm2 mounting system for the LGA2011 will also support the unreleased LGA2066 X299 High-End Desktop platform. Noctua coolers that doesn’t have an included NM-I2011 mounting kit for the LGA2011 and LGA2066 can avail a free upgrade kit upon request. Also, Noctua will be renaming the NM-I2011 mounting kit to NM-I20xx starting Q3-Q4 of 2017 addressing its compatibility with the LGA2066 socket.
How To Get Free NM-I20xx Mounting Kit
For users that doesn’t have the NM-I2011 Kit and would like to request for the NM-I2011/NM-I20xx kit, a proof of purchase will be required upon request. Users who have lost the invoice for their Noctua CPU cooler may write their full name and the current date on a piece of paper, take a photo of the paper next to their CPU cooler and upload this as proof of purchase. The kit can also be purchased in stores for a low service charge.
