NVIDIA's latest thoroughbred racehorse was only just announced, it's not even been reviewed yet, and the green team's partners are already teasing their own versions of the new brute of a GPU. Exhibit one for the Prosecution - MSI, with this delightful little wink over social media seen above.
Unlike previous early reveals the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti's core specs have already been officially outlined by NVIDIA. Sporting 3584 CUDA cores and 11GB of GDDR5X VRAM operating at 11Gbps, the new monster looks set to outpace the GTX 1080 by around 35% when it's available later this month; however that's the Founder's Edition form of the card. Partner designs may well take this to the next level thanks to bespoke cooling designs, factory overclocks, and more bundled features to sweeten the deal.
Not much can be inferred from MSI's teaser image except the card's position under their Gaming X brand and the use of a dual-fan cooler with at least one fat heatpipe. It's likely that this cooler will be the latest generation TwinFrozr model, their optimum choice to handle the expected 220W+ card TDP, and of course it will feature the red and black livery of the Gaming X line.
More information on partner GTX 1080 Ti cards will be forthcoming soon, and pre-orders for the GTX 1080 Ti Founder's Edition opened today worldwide to be shipped next week.
