PRESS RELEASE
LONDON, UK, MAY 11, 2018 – We’re taking over! ASUS Republic of Gamers is pleased to announce its first fan event at the new Red Bull Gaming Sphere in Shoreditch, London. The inaugural ROG Takeover will be open to all ROG fans on May 18-20th 2018. All tickets for the event are free.
As part of this new weekend event, ROG will be hosting gameplay and competitions throughout the weekend as well as inviting our partners to the event to host workshops on system building. It’s a great opportunity for like-minded ROG fans to meet, compete and have a fun time at this exclusive event.
ROG Takeover will be utilising all of the available gaming setups at the Red Bull Gaming Sphere to encompass all of our fan’s gaming interests. Players will be able to compete in teams with both Fortnite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on the team PC setups. Racing fans can pit their skills against each other in a Project Cars 2 fastest lap contest. The HTC Vive virtual reality setup will be showing the best in multiplayer gaming and British game development with Popup Asylum’s BeeBeeQ (recently featured on TV Channel Dave’s Go 8 Bit) available to play. And if you just want to have a relaxing time, a selection of couch co-op games will be available on the Red Bull Gaming Sphere’s large console setup.
Gaming isn’t all that will be happening at the ROG Takeover. CPU partner Intel will be showing off all of the latest Coffee Lake Motherboards from the Republic of Gamers Strix range, the TUF Gaming range and more. Cooling partner Thermaltake will be on hand to show off some amazing water cooling setups and will be hosting workshops throughout the weekend to teach ROG fans how to build their own water cooling setups and help experienced builders with their questions.
But the ROG Takeover doesn’t finish there. Throughout the weekend, Intel, Thermaltake and Republic of Gamers will be offering prizes for the gaming competitions including merchandise, components and peripherals.
How do fans get involved? All ROG fans need to do is come down to the Red Bull Gaming Sphere on the day and enter. Don’t worry if you can’t get straight in though as we’ll be able to let you in as people leave. Attendees need to be aged 16+ and will also need to bring ID with them.
