This year, foldable screens are being adapted in mobile phones to create the first generation of foldable phones like the Samsung Galaxy Fold and Huawei Mate X. Today, Lenovo unveils its adaptation of foldable screens but in a notebook form factor presenting the world’s first foldable PC to be added into Lenovo’s premium ThinkPad X1 family. It will be the first of its kind, a full-fledged laptop with a foldable screen. The creation of the Lenovo foldable notebook is in collaboration with LG Display to dish out a foldable OLED 2K display. The said foldable notebook will be powered by Intel processors and Windows operating system. No further information on detailed specifications as of this writing. Watch the introduction video below.
Lenovo did not reveal detailed specifications of their upcoming foldable notebook whether it could pack up to an Intel Core i7 or i9 processor nor discrete graphics. However, Lenovo hints that it can support multiple displays through a dock, support touch stylus pens, and could sport a mechanical keyboard. This space-saving foldable ThinkPad combines the advantages in productivity of laptops and the portability of smartphones. The foldable Lenovo ThinkPad laptop is expected to be unveiled and released in 2020.
