Announcements are coming thick and fast out of E3 this week, but perhaps one of the most anticipated for PC gamers and MMO fans has been the PC release date for Bungie's Destiny 2. Today, finally, we have that date via the Official Activision Blog
Less than a month after bringing the heat to fans at the Destiny 2 Gameplay Reveal Event, Bungie and Activision have brought the highly anticipated game to the masses at E3, along with a slew of new goodies! First off, there’s a new trailer, which you can watch right here.
There’s also news to share as well! Destiny 2 is now slated to launch on console earlier than expected, and is now scheduled for September 6. Also, the PC version is schedule to launch on October 24, and is now available to pre-order on Battle.net, Blizzard Entertainment’s online gaming service.
Additionally, you can see the Arcstrider Hunter in action for the first time, featuring a super ability that summons an Arc-empowered staff that you can use for close-quarters melee combat. If you happen to be at E3, stop by the Activision Booth (South Hall #1001), the Sony Booth (West Hall #4322) to play an array of gameplay activities on the PlayStation 4 Pro, or come by the NVIDIA booth (West Hall #5230) to experience it on PC.
But don’t worry if you’re not at E3, because you’ll soon be able to experience Destiny 2 for yourself. Players who pre-order† the game will be able to participate in the console beta beginning first on the PlayStation 4 on July 18 at 10am PDT, and on Xbox One beginning on July 19 at 10am PDT. After that pre-order early access period, the beta will open up to all console players on July 21 at 10am PDT, and will conclude on July 23 at 9pm PDT. The PC beta is planned for late August, and we will have more details soon.
But that’s not all! The PlayStation 4 timed exclusive* content for Destiny 2 has also been revealed at E3, which includes a competitive multiplayer map, a three-player cooperative Strike, a blue and white colored ship, legendary armor sets, and an exotic sniper rifle.
We hope to meet plenty of fellow Guardians during E3, and we’ll look for you in the beta next month. There’s still plenty of Destiny 2 information heading your way, so stay tuned throughout E3 and beyond!

So the PC variant will arrive over a month and a half after both consoles. Oh well, better late than never. It's also been reported, but is as-yet unconfirmed, that the PC Beta for Destiny 2 will drop in August; keep your eyes peeled for announcements on that.
Destiny 2 is being digitally distributed and serviced on PC exclusively over Battle.net, Blizzard's platform which currently hosts World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Starcraft, Diablo and Hearthstone. The game is now available to pre-order priced from £44.99, guaranteeing 'early' Beta Access; other pricing tiers are available for season pass content.
More information on the game can be found at DestinyTheGame.com.
