Cooler Master have been showing off plenty at Computex 2019 this week, including a raft of new case concepts, power supplies and cooling products. Unmentioned by us thus far, however, have been new entrants to their peripheral lineup, and it's time we rectified that.

Sleek. Sexy. Slim. - The SK851 Low Profile Mechanical Keyboard

Cooler Master have really been at the forefront of innovation in the keyboard space recently, and the incorporation of Aimpad optical switch designs in particular have generated plenty of buzz. At Computex this year however they're introducing something a little more refined - the SK851 Low Profile Mechanical Keyboard.



The SK851 has been designed chiefly for professional work environments and emphasises space-saving and role flexibility alongside elegant aesthetics. It's equipped with low profile Omron mechanical switches, Bluetooth 4.0 wireless connectivity, full RGB per-key backlighting (with CM software control), trim lighting and a brushed aluminium frame. Battery life is modest however and you'll want to use those LEDs only when necessary - at 15 hours it won't last a day, but 5 months is far more reasonable for a life-span when the backlighting is disabled.

Both linear and tactile switch options will be available when this full-sized keyboard is released in January 2020, and it's been pictured with both white and black keycaps.

Unlock Your Qi - The MM831 Wireless Mouse



Wireless mouse design is typically fraught with complexities and creating one that's acceptable for gamers is a challenge in of itself. Grip shape and weight are tough to get right, but an aspect particularly difficult to overcome is one of wireless lag. Cooler Master's latest mouse, the MM831, is their first to claim true lag-free connectivity.

Core component choices for the MM831 are high-end. The latest 3360 Pixart optical sensor is claimed to be 32,000 dpi resolution while maintaining high accuracy and speed. Omron switches are well regarded through the industry and here rated for 20M clicks. And when it comes to wireless, the MM831 has both ends covered through compatibility with fast 2.4GHz and Bluetooth operation.

But it's not just the I/O that's wireless. The MM831 also incorporates Qi wireless charging, a real rarity amongst PC peripherals that means you can truly cut the cord.

More will no doubt be revealed closer to its November 2019 release date.

Max Performance, Minimum Weight - The Ultra-lightweight MM710 Mouse



Shaving the grams from gaming mice is one of this year's emerging trends and Cooler Master have their own solution: the MM710. A proprietary honeycomb composite shell and lightweight braided cord cut the weight to less than 52g, despite the use of gaming-grade Pixard 3389 optical sensor. In a nod to convention the MM710's general ambidextrous shape has been optimised for right-handed users by locating thumb buttons on the left-hand side.

It remains to be seen whether ultra lightweight mice will stand the test of time as innovation in the peripheral market, but either way Cooler Master will be ready with the MM710 in November 2019.

Hear The Difference - Cooler Master's Latest MH6x0-series Headsets



Rounding the new peripherals showcased this year are there headsets in the MH6x0-series for gaming. Although outwardly similar, each is tailored to slightly different segments and requirements that meaningfully differentiate them more than just the SKU number.

The MH670 is Cooler Master's first wireless gaming headset. It combines 2.4GHz wireless with virtual 7.1 surround-sound and a unidirectional boom mic in a package which should be lag-free and totally cordless. In a nod to broader compatibility it also supports 3.5mm connection, just in case greater platform flexibility is required. Cooler Master is also touting portability as components can be either folded away or detached entirely for a more compact package.

On the wired side, the MH650 and MH630 offer more conventional solutions. The MH650 is a console and PC solution with a unified USB connector and support for 7.1 virtual surround-sound, and where would be in this day and age without integrated RGB lighting. Both cable and mic are also detachable and folding hinges improve portability between home, work, and LAN event. The MH630 meanwhile is a yet more straightforward approach with single 3.5mm jack connection and large 50mm Neodymium drivers for stereo operation when connected to PC, console or mobile device.
