ASUS Republic of Gamers introduces the ROG Mothership all-in-one gaming desktop featuring a revolutionary design with upright orientation with kickstand that’s similar to the Microsoft Surface Pro. It comes with a detachable RGB-lit 29.9mm keyboard making it a similar setup like a standard desktop. The ROG Mothership is powered by an Intel Core i9-9980HK 4.7GHz processor cooled by a liquid metal thermal interface for CPU, four heatsinks with 375 ultrathin 0.1mm copper fins that supports ASUS’s intelligent fan modes. Paired with the powerful CPU is also a factory overclocked NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080. The ROG Mothership also comes with three high-performance NVMe SSDs in RAID 0 configuration offering blazing speeds. The ROG Mothership packs a 17.3-inch Full HD IPS-level display with 144Hz refresh rate, 3ms response time, and 100% sRGB coverage. The ROG Mothership supports up to 64GB of memory.

Revolutionary Design

The ROG Mothership introduces a detachable keyboard with a folding design that dramatically reduces the system’s overall footprint and offers users different orientations. The smaller footprint allows more space for multi-monitor setups. The ROG Mothership is only 29.9mm thick which is 10mm thinner than the original design – thanks to the redesigned cooling system. The ROG Mothership’s chassis is made of sturdy aluminium using precise CNC milling that went through 114 tooling stages with almost 20 hours to complete the entire process. The ROG Mothership’s protective jacket gives a gaming-grade sturdiness that can withstand intense gaming action.

Advanced Cooling

For the ROG Mothership, Thermal Grizzly liquid metal is used to coat the CPU to reduce CPU temperatures by up to 13°C. The block that sits on the CPU also has a special internal fence that prevents liquid metal from leaking out over time. A network of eight heat pipes linked to the CPU, GPU, graphics memory, and voltage-regulator module (VRM) transfer thermal energy to the heatsinks at the edges. They stretch across four heatsinks lined with 375 ultrathin copper fins. The fins are just 0.1 mm thin, allowing for more to be packed into each heatsink without impeding airflow. The ROG Mothership sports ASUS intelligent fan modes which include Turbo Mode, Balanced Mode, and Silent Mode. Users can also create custom profiles with preferred fan speeds and frequencies.

Extreme Performance

The ROG Mothership’s Intel Core i9-9980HK is factory overclocked to 4.7GHz instead of the stock 4.2GHz on all its eight cores and 16 threads engaged. The GeForce RTX 2080 GPU is also factory overclocked to 1880MHz at 200W. The ROG Mothership comes with 64GB of DDR4 memory and three-drive HyperDrive Extreme array offering blazing speeds of up to 8700MB/s.
