The PC enthusiast community sets their eyes on ASUS and the ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO EVA-02 EDITION motherboard, ASUS's latest collection - the ROG EVA-02. Announced back in July, the ROG X EVANGELION 02 Collection sports a new red blood colour theme inspired by the EVA-02 unit and pilot Asuka Langley Soryu. A key collection component is the motherboard, an EVANGELION version of the ROG Maximus Z790 Hero motherboard.
The motherboard is plagued with a misprint on its I/O shroud, spelled "EVANGENLION" instead of EVANGELION. The misprint may be small but is on a visible portion of the motherboard. Given the allure of the motherboard is its aesthetics, and having a rather hefty price of £769.99, such error is unacceptable for EVANGELION enthusiasts, raised eyebrows and questions regarding ASUS's quality control. Today, ASUS released a statement regarding the misprint which you can read below.

Buyers and Listings
The ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO EVA-02 EDITION is already available for sale and some people got their hands on the motherboard. One buyer on Amazon aired his dismay saying "So expensive, the 01 version is nicer in color and it has a big spelling mistake" - translated from German.Surprisingly, even the photos provided to partner resellers like Overclockers UK have the misspelt EVANGENLION. The same can be observed on the Amazon and Amazon UK listing of the motherboard coming from the ASUS Store itself.
The motherboard's photo gallery on the ASUS ROG website appears to have the correct spelling as of this writing. Still, it is quite mindboggling how this misprint slipped through quality control - not just on the product but also on the photos distributed by ASUS to partner resellers.
