ASUS officially announces the ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4060 Ti SSD graphics card, the first graphics card in the world to include an M.2 NVMe drive slot. The first prototype was first seen back in August and presented by Tony Yu, ASUS' Product Manager in China, on his Bilibili channel. The prototype ASUS DUAL GeForce RTX 4060 Ti SSD uses the available PCIe X8 lanes of the PCIe slot since the RTX 4060 Ti GPU only uses a PCIe X8 bus interface.
In the demonstration of the prototype, the SSD installed on the ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4060 Ti SSD graphics card shows similar performance compared to having it installed directly on the motherboard.
Revealed in the press release today, if the ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4060 Ti SSD graphics card is installed on a PCIe 5.0 X16 slot, the M.2 slot on the graphics card will also operate at PCIe 5.0 speeds. The M.2 slot on the ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4060 Ti SSD features the Q-Latch, a tool-free SSD installation mechanism, and pre-mounted thermal pad.
