ASUS introduces the ROG Strix XG17, a 17.3-inch portable gaming monitor with 240Hz native refresh rate and thin bezels. A first of its kind, it aims to aid gaming laptops or works as a second display for a multi-monitor setup with gaming laptops or perhaps a monitor for gaming consoles. The ROG Strix XG17 is powered through an AC power adapter or through its two USB Type-C ports. It also comes with a part of 1W speakers for gaming and entertainment when you forgot your gaming headset at home. The ROG Strix XG17 is less than half an inch thick and can be stored in a typical laptop backpack for 17-inch gaming notebooks.

Level Up To 240Hz Gaming

The ROG Strix XG17 is the ideal solution for serious gamers that wants smooth and high-resolution gameplay particularly if your gaming notebook’s display is only capable of 60Hz. The ROG STRIX XG17 comes with a 1920 x 1080 native resolution that perfectly complements its ultra-fast 240Hz refresh rate. It comes with an IPS panel with a wide 178° viewing angles.

Compact and Portable

The ROG Strix XG17 portable gaming monitor is designed to be carried like a typical gaming notebook. It comes with a matte panel with fingerprint resistance and a metal stand that you can set up in a jiffy. It’s brushed surfaces on the back hold up well against scratches and is complemented with ROG aesthetics like those found in ROG gaming laptops. It has conveniently accessible USB Type-C and micro-HDMI 2.0 ports on the side. Both interfaces carry high-speed video and audio signals, making them equally good choices for enjoying the ROG Strix XG17’s 240Hz refresh rate and built-in speakers.

The ROG Strix XG17 is on show at Computex 2019 in Taipei and will be available soon.
