ASUS announces the ROG Crosshair VIII Impact and ROG Strix X570-I Gaming compact form-factor motherboards featuring advanced power delivery and innovative cooling for the Ryzen 3000-Series processors. These new ROG small-form-factor motherboards come with an 8+2 power phase design and an active VRM and chipset heatsink to deliver sufficient cooling to the VRM and PCH. Both motherboards come with the latest Wi-Fi 6 standard and PCIe 4.0 lanes. The ROG Strix X570-I Gaming comes in the mini-ITX form-factor (17x17cm) while the ROG Crosshair VIII Impact comes in a bit larger mini-DTX form-factor (20.3x17cm).

ROG Crosshair VIII Impact: Mini Powerhouse

The ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Impact is a compact powerhouse based on the Mini-DTX form factor that maintains compatibility with most Mini-ITX cases. The taller PCB allows for a larger space for VRM and cooling design. The Crosshair VIII Impact comes with an 8+2 strategically paired TDA21472 power stages, each rated to handle 70 amperes. The motherboard’s VRM and chipset-heatsink combo comes with a Delta Superflow cooling fan with a high-performance heat pipe to dissipate heat quickly and evenly across the critical areas.

ROG Crosshair VIII Impact Features
- AMD AM4 socket: Ready for 2nd and 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen processors and up to two M.2 drives, USB 3.1 Gen2 and AMD StoreMI to maximize connectivity and speed
- SO-DIMM.2: Bundled expansion card with heatsink allows two M.2 drives to be connected via a SO-DIMM interface and helps control SSD thermals for maximum performance
- Comprehensive thermal design: An active VRM and chipset combo heatsink and full-sized aluminum backplate with heatpipe add mass to help absorb more heat
- High-performance networking: On-board Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) with MU-MIMO support and Intel Gigabit Ethernet with ASUS LANGuard supports GameFirst V technologies
- Advanced water-cooling features: ROG water-cooling zone, water pump + header, and radiator headers enable easy integration with a custom water-cooling loop
- 5-Way Optimization: Automated system-wide tuning creates overclocking and cooling profiles tailor-made for your rig
- DIY Friendly Design: Pre-mounted I/O shield, ASUS SafeSlot, and IMPACT Control Card IV, which adds BIOS Flashback, Clr CMOS, Q-Code and FlexKey functionality
- Unmatched personalization: ASUS-exclusive Aura Sync RGB lighting, including RGB headers and Gen. 2 addressable headers
- Industry-leading ROG audio: SupremeFX S1220 and ESS SABRE9023P for enthusiast-grade audio performance, Sonic Studio III and DTS Sound Unbound

ROG Strix X570-I Gaming: Compact and Cool

The ASUS ROG Strix X570-I Gaming motherboard is ASUS ROG’s smallest AMD X570 motherboard having the mini-ITX form-factor. The ROG Strix X570-I Gaming comes with a chipset-heatsink heat pipe to conduct toward the fans, where it can be actively cooled. The VRM comes with a beefy heatsink and the active fan pushed airflow downward to dissipate heat and cooling critical areas of the motherboard. The ROG Strix X570-I Gaming also manages to squeeze in an additional AIO pump header alongside the chassis fan headers.

ROG Strix X570-I Gaming Features
- AM4 socket: Ready for 2nd and 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen processors to maximize connectivity and speed with up to two M.2 drives, USB 3.2 Gen2 and AMD StoreMI
- Aura Sync RGB: ASUS-exclusive Aura Sync RGB lighting, including RGB header and addressable Gen 2 header
- Optimal Power Solution: 8+2 power stages with a ProCool II power connector, alloy chokes, and durable capacitors to support multi-core processors
- Comprehensive cooling design: VRM and chipset heatsinks add mass to help absorb more heat and feature miniature fans, an embedded chipset heatpipe, an M.2 heatsink and an aluminium backplate with cyber-text pattern
- Gaming connectivity: Supports PCIe 4.0, HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4 and features dual M.2 and USB 3.2 Type-A and Type-C connectors
- Gaming networking: Intel Gigabit Ethernet with ASUS LANGuard, Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) with MU-MIMO support, and gateway teaming via GameFirst V
