Cerberus is still burgeoning series of gaming products from ASUS, distinct from the ROG and ROG Strix lines and catering to a slightly more mainstream audience. Earlier this year we reviewed the Cerberus V2, a very accomplished headset at a quite attractive price that garnered our Gold Award, and today two new products enter the range.
Joining the Cerberus V2, Cerberus Mech RGB mechanical gaming keyboard and Cerberus Mat gaming mousepad as part of the peripheral lineup is the Cerberus Fortus. A gaming mouse with magnesium-alloy base, it also features Omron mechanical switches, on-the-fly multicolour RGB LED lighting effects, and a DPI switch for precision gaming. A soft braided cable should also increases the general durability of the mouse, while not also keeping it under tension as can be the case with tougher braid weaves.
The second addition to Cerberus is a new venture for the Series - a graphics card. Exploiting NVIDIA's latest GPU, the ASUS Cerberus GeForce GTX 1070 Ti is a high performance graphics card which is also the one of the best 'bang for your buck' releases and excellent for 1080p to 1440p gaming at high (>60) frame rates. The model is also equipped with a substantial cooler reminiscent of the DirectCU II designs on the premium ROG graphics cards, ensuring some scope for overclocking and reliable GPU Boost dynamics when running in reference configuration. Thanks to patented 0db fans, the card should also be whisper-quiet and totally silent under light loads.
Pricing and available for these new products is as yet unavailble. For more information on the Cerberus Series, and other ASUS components and peripherals, visit ASUS.com.
