Arctic updates its Alpine 12 Series CPU coolers to include AM4-compatible versions of the Alpine 12, Alpine 12 CO, Alpine 12 LP, and Alpine AM4 Passive. The Alpine 12 cost-effective CPU coolers previously released at designed for Intel LGA 115X sockets while the newly added Alpine AM4 series is exclusively designed for the AMD AM4 socket. The Alpine AM4 CPU coolers are not backward compatible with older AMD sockets namely AM1, AM2, AM3, FM1, FM2, and others.

The Arctic Alpine 12 and Alpine AM4 Passive coolers, launched in Summer 2018, are already available at partner resellers worldwide. Arctic now expands the lineup with the addition of the Alpine 12 and Alpine 12 CO AM4 CPU coolers. Additional versions for Intel and AMD sockets to follow shortly.

The Arctic Alpine Passive CPU coolers are optimized for heat dissipation with its black anodized heat sink ideal for fanless systems. The Alpine 12 and Alpine 12 CO features a radial heatsink, the high thermal conductivity of the aluminium is fully retained in a new type of extrusion. It comes with a PWM-controlled fan with 0 dB mode wherein the fan turns off below 5% PWM signal. The Alpine coolers come with pre-applied Arctic MX-2 thermal compound.
