The first, and so far only major driver update of the month from AMD Radeon - RSAE 19.10.1 Beta - released pretty early on in October, but now the WHQL package is available for System Integrators, OEMs and other interested parties (including consumers). Although far from foolproof, WHQL testing by Microsoft is an important step for issuing a software package that 3rd parties can be confident in publishing through their own channels, and historically it's been an aspect of driver releases that AMD have struggled to maintain.
WHQL certification aside, little appears to have changed for the Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition 19.10.1 driver package. The primary purpose of the original driver was to provide support for the Radeon RX 5500 and 5500M series GPUs, but they also offered important fixes for Borderlands 3 and FreeSync operation in a number of configurations. RSAE 19.10.1 additionally identifies a handful of new flaws to fix in an upcoming release that potentially will come just before the month ends.
Technically, this driver is listed as an optional update, so feel free to skip it if you're not directed affected by the fixed issues or seek support for the new Radeon hardware.
RSAE 19.10.1 WHQL is available for 64-bit versions of Window 7 and 10, and can be downloaded at amd.com/support after inputting your AMD GPU series. Alternatively, a new patcher utility is also available which will auto-detect your graphics hardware and apply the relevant driver. Learn more about this feature here.
