AMD announces the new AMD Radeon Pro 5500M and 5300M mobile graphics which will power the latest 16-inch MacBook Pro laptops. The AMD Radeon Pro 5000M series are the first 7nm discrete mobile graphics for professional users and brings the AMD RDNA architecture to the Mac OS to provide superior graphics performance for video editing, 3D rendering, and Mac OS-based game development and content creation.
The AMD Radeon Pro 5000M-based MacBook Pro notebooks are more than 2X faster than the previous-generation base model with its seamless playback and faster rendering of ultra-high-definition video. The optional Radeon Pro 5500M comes with 8GB of GDDR6 memory offering 80% faster performance in DaVinci Resolve compared with the Radeon Pro Vega 20. The Radeon Pro 5500M is also 95% faster in Fortnite than the 15-inch MacBook Pro with Radeon Pro 560X, 55% faster than the 15-inch MacBook Pro with Radeon Pro Vega 20.
